Purpose and design
Single-phase smoothing chokes are used in power electronics applications. They limit the ripple of the rectified current in the output circuits of the rectifiers. Chokes of this type are also an important part of direct medium frequency converters. The choke catalogue group is designed for use in the inductive filter of a six-pulse bridge rectifier. Smoothing chokes can be made in IP23 rated enclosures or covers. The installation of chokes in enclosures with a higher protection class should be consulted with the manufacturer.
