Purpose and design

Single-phase shunt chokes are designed for reactive power compensation in networks of capacitive load character. These chokes can operate in larger, complex, tracking shunt devices. Shunt chokes can be made in IP23 rated enclosures. In case of a need for installation of chokes in enclosures with a higher protection class should be consulted with the manufacturer. The method of mounting the chokes, due to the magnetic dispersion field, should ensure electrical isolation from the mounting structure or conductive ground.
